Beginner Yoga

Invest in your wellness and feel good all year long with Beginner Yoga! In this class you will learn fundamental yoga postures, alignment principles, breathwork, and how to harness your attention and intention for whole body/mind health. Practice standing, seated and reclined poses and postures with variations and prop support and explore physical sensations and the movement of prana (energy) to access spaciousness and resilience in a safe, supportive and fun environment. The benefits of these practices include enhanced balance, flexibility, strength, calm, and ease in your body and in your breath.

This class is designed for anyone who is brand new to or has limited experience with yoga. It is wholly accessible and appropriate for students who experience mobility and/or balance challenges or limitations. This class includes a mix of standing, seated and reclined poses with movement up and down from our yoga mats, so students who prefer to practice seated yoga are invited to email sandypauseyoga@gmail.com to schedule Chair Yoga lessons.

What You Will Need for this Class:

Please bring a yoga or (thin-ish) exercise mat. A few yoga mats will be available for student use each week as well.

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing, and bring a sweater or sweatshirt to be cozy during our savasana (resting pose) at the end of class.

Please remember that just as each of us feels excited and/or nervous when trying something new for the first time, so might you feel in this class. You will be wholly supported and cared for during our time together, and also, you will have fun!

Registration: Advance registration is requested by 11 a.m. each Saturday. Drop-in class registration links are below, and if you have a Sandy Pause Yoga class package, please email sandypauseyoga@gmail.com to register for this class. All students will be asked to sign a waiver in order to participate.

Individual classes are $18 or $14.50 for Dunies members, and payment can be sent via Venmo to @SandyPauseYoga or register via PayPal at the links below. See the “Descriptions and Packages” page for additional information. All classes are listed in central time.
