All Levels Vinyasa Flow

In this all levels vinyasa flow class, we will move mindfully through a sequence of asanas (poses) to cultivate balance between flexibility and strength, movement and stillness, and effort and ease.  These classes are designed to bring us back to the sensations in our body and the movement of our breath to feel and find our way to greater freedom on and off our mats. A blend of meditation, pranayama (breathwork), and soothing soundscapes as well as a luxurious savasana (resting pose) will be offered each week. By practicing together and sharing time on our mats and with our breath, we join a global community (sangha) of yogis.

Sunset Yoga at Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk Beach

Come for yoga and stay for the sunset! In this all levels class, we will move through a playful sequence of asanas (poses), linking breath to movement for a moving meditation as we release tension and cultivate strength, flexibility, and spaciousness in body and mind. All classes are appropriate for beginner and experienced yoga students alike.

The Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk Beach is within easy access to the National Park’s large public parking lot. All visitors to the National Park need to purchase entry to the Park (see Fees & Passes - Indiana Dunes National Park (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov) for details and to pay your entrance fee). We will practice inside in the pavilion classroom overlooking Lake Michigan. At the end of class, linger with new and old friends for a pause in community with fellow yogis.

Pre-registration is requested by 5:30 p.m. the day of class.

Directions to the Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk Beach: from U.S. Highway 20: Follow SR249 north and take the bridge over U.S. 12 towards the U.S. Steel and Precoat Metals businesses adjacent to the lakefront near Portage, IN. Turn left at the stop sign and cross over Burns Waterway. Once over the waterway, turn immediately right and head north, towards the lake, passing the entrance sign for Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk. Park only in public designated parking spots and help protect the fragile dune ecosystem along the roadside. I’ll be easy to find on the beach for our class together!

Sunset Yoga at Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk Beach

Come for yoga and stay for the sunset! In this all levels class, we will move through a playful sequence of asanas (poses), linking breath to movement for a moving meditation as we release tension and cultivate strength, flexibility, and spaciousness in body and mind. All classes are appropriate for beginner and experienced yoga students alike.

The Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk Beach is within easy access to the National Park’s large public parking lot. All visitors to the National Park need to purchase entry to the Park (see Fees & Passes - Indiana Dunes National Park (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov) for details and to pay your entrance fee). We will practice inside in the pavilion classroom overlooking Lake Michigan. At the end of class, linger with new and old friends for a pause in community with fellow yogis.

Pre-registration is requested by 5:30 p.m. the day of class.

Turn left at the stop sign and cross over Burns Waterway. Once over the waterway, turn immediately right and head north, towards the lake, passing the entrance sign for Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk. Park only in public designated parking spots and help protect the fragile dune ecosystem along the roadside. I’ll be easy to find on the beach for our class together!

All Levels Vinyasa Flow

In this all levels vinyasa flow class, we will move mindfully through a sequence of asanas (poses) to cultivate balance between flexibility and strength, movement and stillness, and effort and ease.  These classes are designed to bring us back to the sensations in our body and the movement of our breath to feel and find our way to greater freedom on and off our mats. A blend of meditation, pranayama (breathwork), and soothing soundscapes as well as a luxurious savasana (resting pose) will be offered each week. By practicing together and sharing time on our mats and with our breath, we join a global community (sangha) of yogis.

Location Information: Class will take place at Troybuilt Fitness at 3440 W. Dunes Highway, Town of Pines, Indiana (near the intersection of Highway 12 and Highway 520). You can check out Troy Ford’s private and group personal training at https://www.facebook.com/troybuiltfitness.

Registration: Advance registration is requested by 9:30 a.m. each Saturday. All students will be asked to sign a waiver in order to participate in class. Please bring a yoga or exercise mat with you to class, plus a sweater or sweatshirt to be cozy during our savasana (resting pose) at the end of class.

All Levels Vinyasa Flow
